2 Gauge Solder Slugs / Pellets

Our 2 gauge slugs provide optimum performance and better corrosion protection over crimping and are perfect for battery terminal connectors or any closed end connectors such as our copper lugs. Designed for use in medium-size applications, for a better connection and protection against corrosion.

Get the job done like a pro with our 2 gauge color-coded solder slugs, the right choice for projects requiring 2 gauge cable such as mid-size cars, light trucks and boats, small campers, generators or even an amplifier up to 80 amps. They can be used to with various types of closed end connectors such as our {battery terminal connectors} or our line of copper lugs. The advantage over crimping is simple: you get a more bonded connection resulting in increased electrical performance and much better protection against corrosion. Better connection, fewer worries, and no expensive lug crimpers needed.

Battery Terminals Video

Tools needed:

*Propane or butane torch

*wire strippers *a bottle of flux

*heat shrink tubing (we recommend our Heavy Duty)

*a vice or clamps.

How to use a 2 gauge solder slug / solder pellet:

*Strip cable so that the exposed copper reaches the battery terminal bottom

*Place the proper slug size into the battery terminal, and secure it with a vice

*Slide the heat shrink tube over the wire

*Apply several drops of flux to the exposed copper of the cable

*Pre-heat solder to until it melts

*As soon as solder melts, slowly insert the cable while continuing apply heat

*Make sure conection is secure and shrink the tubing over the connection
