When using a 2 awg red battery cable for a ground cable, remember to take into account the total length of both the red positive cable and the length you need for your grounding cable. For example, if your black ground cable is 5 feet long, and your red cable is 10 feet in length, then your total system length is 15 ft. For 2 gauge battery cable, you system could comfortably handle 100 amps of continuous current with a voltage drop of less than 2%.
