Wire butt splices come in a variety of configurations for both insulated wire splices, and non-insulated wire splices. How do I choose the correct splice for my application? Non-insulated wire splices are typically the most economical. Use these when no special characteristics or protection is required. Use high temperature butt splices for applications that will be exposed to higher than normal temperatures. Vinyl insulated wire splices are the most economical of the insulated wire splices. Nylon wire splices provide higher temperature and better durability than vinyl. For the maximum protection and environmental exposure, use heatshrink wire splices to completely seal the splice.
